Corso bike tour
Do you want to take a look behind the scenes at the float builders? That is possible! Participate in the corso bike tour free of charge, where you will be accompanied by a guide and visit construction sites where the dahlia giants rise. We start at 1:00 p.m. at Bonkenhaveweg 28.8.

Tuesday the 16th of August 2022
Judging street decoration
The inhabitants of Sint Jansklooster bring the whole village into a parade atmosphere with decorated streets. This evening, a jury will judge between 20.00 and 23.00 which neighbourhood has turned out to be the most beautiful. The jury also determines in which street the most beautiful theatre takes place.

Help the float builders
The float builders will be happy with a helping hand during the finishing touch of the dahlia giants. Would you like to help picking flowers? You are welcome to join any group. You can recognize the construction sites by the large banners along the road.
Thursday the 18th of August 2022
Enter the construction barn
Hundreds of thousands dahlias are processed at the dahlia giants by the float builders. A multi-day job, which often goes on well into the night before the parade day. Even today you can ensure that many hands make light work in the construction barns of the 13 participants.
Friday the 19th of August 2022
Afternoon parade
After months of building and preparing, today is finally the day! From 2:00 p.m., the 13 dahlia giants will march through the streets of Sint Jansklooster. Marching bands and theater acts complete the event!
Award ceremony
Who will take home the honorary prize as the winner of the parade this year? At 7:45 p.m. the tension among the float builders is palpable on the Bonkenhaveweg. Behold the compelling parade feelings of bitter disappointment and mad joy.
Evening parade
After the announcement of the results, the evening parade will start at 8.30 p.m. Be enchanted by the wonderful experience of the illuminated dahlia giants. Realise that the largest illuminated parade in the world is passing you by.
Tent party
After the evening parade, the party starts! With the cooperation of the band JetSet, the party goes off in the marquee on the Monnikenweg. Will you join the crowd?
Saturday the 20th of August 2022
Parade festival
The floats are located in the village center from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can enjoy the beautiful dahlia giants and the theatre acts taking place on and around them. Dozens of cultural acts complete the artistic atmosphere.
Shooter's Part
At 4 p.m. the first shot of the shooter’s party is fired at the festival site. A wooden bird is put on a fencing board high in the sky. Do you want to catch a cash prize by taking down a wing, head or the bird itself? Than register on location!
Float builders party
At 8:00 p.m., the marquee is packed with all the float builders. They are preparing for THE biggest party of the year. With the cooperation of KaramBam and Orkest Butterfly, the float builders will turn the end of their week into an unforgettable celebration.
Categories award ceremony
The victory prize is known already, but this does not apply to the other prizes. That is why time is made in the marquee between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to announce the results of the theater award, lighting award, golden dahlia, the international award and the audience award.
Sunday the 21st of August 2022
Marquee worship service
The parade week of Sint Jansklooster officially ends on Sunday evening with a church service in the marquee. The Council of Churches organizes this themed service, which is accompanied by music. The worship service starts at 7:00 p.m. The pastor this year is Mr. Pim Durieux and there will be musical cooperation provided by gospel group Promise and the Christian marching band SDG. The theme of this year’s worship service is ‘Like clay’. During the service, 2 offertories will be held, one for charity (to be determined) and one for general expenses.
