Practical information

When is the parade?

Every 3rd Friday of August:
– afternoon parade > tour starts at 2:00 PM and consists of 2 laps
– evening parade > tour starts at 8:30 PM and there are 2 laps 

When is the parade festival?

Every 3rd Saturday of August:
– setup from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., of which from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with figuration
Please note, the parade floats are stationary

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available online and at the box office. Ordering online is cheaper than at the cash register. You can purchase tickets in advance in our ticket shop and download or print them at home. We strongly recommend this to avoid long queues.
Tickets can still be ordered in our ticket shop until the parade day.
Online sales for the afternoon parade stop on Friday, August 16 at 12:00 PM and for the evening parade at 6:00 PM.
Tickets for the parade festival on Saturday are still available online until 12:00 noon.

Are there grandstands?

During the parade on Friday there will be stands at various locations along the route.

Does a grandstand ticket also entitle you to access to the parade?

No, a grandstand ticket can only be used in combination with a valid entrance ticket or membership wristband.

I ordered and paid for tickets online, but have not received any tickets in the email. What now?? 

The email may have ended up in your spam folder or unwanted messages. Would you like to check that first? If you paid via Sofort or by credit card, there may be some time between your debit and our payment system. Have you not received an email after 2 days? Please contact us at  facturen@corsoklooster.nl

Where can I park?

If you drive to Sint Jansklooster, you will automatically come across signs and traffic controllers that direct you to the various parking spaces, all within walking distance of the parade route. Parking is free..

Is it possible to visit the parade with a (travel) group by coach or bus? 

That’s certainly possible. It is possible for groups to reserve an entrance ticket with a grandstand card in advance.

Can I buy food and/or drinks during the parade? 

Yes, that is certainly possible! On Friday during the parade, there are various options spread across the route to buy food, drinks and/or ice cream. Also on Saturday, during the parade festival, there are various catering establishments where you can buy food, drinks and/or ice cream.

I am disabled or wheelchair user. How can I visit the parade?

I am disabled or wheelchair user. How can I visit the parade?
For disabled people we offer the option to reserve a place in the disabled plaza in advance, so that you are assured of a good place. We have a wheelchair platform for wheelchair users, close to the disabled parking spaces and toilets. For the correct information and reservations, please email

Can people with a visual and/or hearing impairment go to the parade?

Yes, during the afternoon parade we have specially set up a grandstand, together with the ‘Come see it’ foundation, and various sign language interpreters. For the correct information and reservations, please email info@corsoklooster.nl.

Is there first aid available?

In view of the safety regulations, there are first aid posts at 3 different locations that can be approached for first aid.

Public transport

Accessible from all directions.

Sint Jansklooster is located in the middle of the city triangle of Steenwijk, Zwolle, Emmeloord in the Wieden-Weerribben National Park. A tourist attraction that is easily accessible.

By bicycle

Based on our sustainability philosophy, we encourage everyone to come by bicycle as much as possible. A bicycle shed is indicated on all access roads. 

By car

From Steenwijk:
From Steenwijk follow the N334 towards Giethoorn and Wanneperveen.

From Zwolle:
From Zwolle, follow the N331 in the direction of Hasselt and Zwartsluis.

From Emmeloord:
From Emmeloord follow the N331 towards Marknesse and Vollenhove.

By bus

From Steenwijk:
From the bus station, take line 70 in the direction of Zwartsluis. Change there to line 71 in the direction of Emmeloord.

Form Zwolle:
From the bus station, take line 71 in the direction of Emmeloord.

Vanuit Emmeloord:
From the bus station, take line 71 in the direction of Zwolle.
